A.J. Hawk visits Cincinnati

by Ryan Sura | Tue, Mar 10th 12:20pm EDT

According to ESPN's Cole Harvey, former Green Bay Packer linebacker A.J. Hawk met with the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday. Hawk spent nine seasons with the Packers before being cut two weeks ago. The Bengals' main focus this offseason will be to obtain some more depth at the linebacker position. In 2014 injuries killed the Bengals at linebacker, forcing them to start a few inexperienced linebackers in Marquis Flowers and Jayson DiManche. Adding Hawk to their linebacking core would be a great idea, considering the experience he has at the position. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

A.J. Hawk had somewhat of an off year last season, recording 90 tackles and only 0.5 sacks. Hawk has recorded 120 tackles twice in his career, and has been over 100 tackles five out of his nine seasons. Tackling was a major issue for the Bengals last year, especially in the run game as their defense ranked 20th in the NFL. Hawk would be a great addition to Cincinnati this offseason, with Burfict coming back from injury and Maualuga coming off a fresh contract, the Bengals linebacking core would be ready to go in 2015.
