Austin Carr to start at slot WR for Saints Sunday
by Mike Maher | Sun, Sep 9th 8:51am EDT
NFL insider Ian Rapoport tweets that former undrafted wide receiver Austin Carr will start at slot wide receiver for the Saints in their matchup against the Buccaneers today. Carr has played in just one game in his career and has zero catches, but he impressed the coaching staff and Drew Brees enough in training camp and the preseason to earn the start. Fantasy Impact:
While Carr is a surprise starter and could be a fantasy sleeper, the Saints have a ton of weapons on offense, especially at wide receiver. Michael Thomas is the clear number one option, while Carr will also have to compete with Cameron Meredith, Ted Ginn, and Tre'Quan Smith for playing time and touches.
