Ponder to start at QB for the Vikings on Thursday
by Kevin C. Wilson | Thu, Oct 2nd 7:59pm EDT
Christian Ponder will get the start at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night after starter Teddy Bridgewater was ruled out with an ankle injury. The former first-round pick started nine games for the Vikings last season, but Ponder's ineffective play resulted in him beginning this year as No. 3 on the depth chart. Ponder is the third starting quarterback in three weeks for the Vikings. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
While Ponder has had success in the past against the Packers don't expect for it to continue tonight at Lambeau Field. Ponder should only be considered as a desperation play in leagues that start 2 QBs and he also depresses the value of the rest of the Vikings skill players so temper your expectations accordingly.
