Tramaine Brock is cleared of domestic violence charges
by Jacob Bridges | Wed, Aug 9th 1:57pm EDT
Tramaine Brock had his domestic violence case dropped due to lack of evidence. He is now officially a free agent. However he is still subject to an NFL investigation which could lead to a suspension. (Bleacher Report)
Fantasy Impact:
Brock was slated to be a starting corner for the 49ers before his arrest in April, leading to him being released. He had started 31 of 32 games prior to his release, and was a bright spot in a bottom tier secondary. Rumor is the 49ers interested in resigning him which would add some much needed depth to the secondary, but they will have to get in line as three other teams are reportedly interested. If signed he should be immediately in the starting corner conversation, but may take some time to get back into football shape. The 49ers need lock down corners for their defense to operate like it should and Brock is arguably better than anyone on the roster currently. Corner isn't usually a position targeted in IDP unless you are forced to start one but he would improve a D/ST unit that at least on paper figures to be much improved from last year.
