Jets quarterbacks coach raves about Matt Simms

New York Jets quarterbacks coach David Lee offered high praise of Matt Simms on Tuesday. "Matt Simms has improved as much as any guy I think I can ever remember coaching," Lee said. "Early on, he threw so hard, our backs couldn't catch it. There was no touch. He developed some touch, and developed more touch. Right now, he is accurate." Simms is expected to receive heavy playing time in Thursday night's preseason finale in Philadelphia. (ESPN)

It is unlikely you'd hear such a positive statement about someone who is going to be cut, so this report suggests that Matt Simms will make the Jets' final 53-man roster over rookie Tajh Boyd. Even if Simms does make the roster, however, you can't ignore the fact that he is the third-string QB, and will have extremely limited opportunity to score fantasy points, if he even gets a chance at all.
