Vince Wilfork likely to retire

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Houston Texans defensive lineman Vince Wilfork said "he thinks he played his last football game" in Saturday's Divisional Round Playoff loss to the New England Patriots and that he will "take [the] time to consider and make sure." (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

If Wilfork walks away, he is poised to be Canton bound. The 35-year-old interior lineman played 13 seasons in the NFL with two teams, the Patriots (2004-2014) and the Texans (2015-2016). He totaled 559 career tackles, 16.0 sacks, 26 deflected passes, three interceptions and four forced fumbles. As a member of the Patriots, Wilfork won two Super Bowls, appeared in five Pro Bowls and was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2012. Expect a decision on whether or not Wilfork will retire sooner rather than later.
