The Chiefs are not expected to place the franchise or transition tag on Trey Smith. (Source: ProFootballTalk)
Fantasy Impact: Smith has started all 80 games for Kansas City since he was drafted by them. He'll be one of the top offensive lineman on the free agent market if he can't agree to a new deal with the Chiefs.

Cowboys DC Matt Eberflus said Mazi Smith "could certainly" bring his game to the next level. (Source: ProFootballTalk)
Fantasy Impact: Smith recorded 41 tackles with a sack, and three quarterback hits while starting all 17 games in 2024. “Yeah, I’m excited about Mazi,” Eberflus said. “I liked him coming out. He’s a real explosive athlete, with a big body type that can move really well. Excited about bringing his game to the next level, and he could certainly do that.”
The Buccaneers and Chris Godwin are reportedly working on a new contract. (Source: ProFootballTalk)
Fantasy Impact: It was reported earlier in the week that the Bucs are not expected to place the franchise tag on Godwin. They agreed to change his old contract so that it doesn’t void until the end of the league year on March 12, so he'll have the next few weeks to agree to a new contract with Tampa Bay.
The Raiders signed WR Kyle Philips. (Source: ProFootballTalk)
Fantasy Impact: Phillips last appeared in the NFL with the Titans two years ago where he caught 15 passes in a limited role. Las Vegas waived DB Keenan Isaac as the corresponding move.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that “the Steelers did not call the Jaguars about Trevor Lawrence.” (Source: ProFootballTalk)
Fantasy Impact: It was rumored that Pittsburgh had called about Lawrence but according to Florio, it came from a source with “direct knowledge of the situation." Lawrence will remain with the Jaguars.
Dre'Mont Jones could be cap casualty for the Seahawks this offseason. (Source: Mike Dugar)
Fantasy Impact: If Jones is released, Seattle would save $11.57 million in cap space. He is entering the final season of his three-year deal. The Seahawks are in a tough spot when it comes to cap space heading into the offseason, so releasing Jones would make sense for Seattle.

Daniel Popper of The Athletic wrote that a Mike Williams reunion with the Chargers “makes a ton of sense.” (Source: Daniel Popper)

Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic wrote that "it is not a given" that Matthew Stafford remains with the Rams heading into the 2025 season. (Source: Jourdan Rodrigue)
Fantasy Impact: There has appeared to not be much progress on a contract extension between Stafford and the Rams. According to Rodrigue, it is possible that the Rams “don’t want to make a significant financial commitment to a veteran quarterback whose long-term future or durability they can’t be certain about.” This will be a situation to monitor heading into free agency.

Tashan Reed of The Athletic reported that Gardner Minshew “won’t be in the Raiders’ plans at quarterback.” (Source: Tashan Reed)
Fantasy Impact: Las Vegas can save $3 million against the cap by releasing Minshew. That can raise to $6 million if they used a post-June 1 designation on his release. Aidan O’Connell is the current starter, but the Raiders could address the position in free agency or in the draft.

James Boyd of The Athletic reported that “the writing has been on the wall” for the Colts to release RT Braden Smith. (Source: Kevin Fishbain)
Fantasy Impact: If the Colts release Smith, they would save $16.75 million against the salary cap. If that does happen, Matt Goncalves would likely take over at right tackle for the Colts.

Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reported that "it is hard to see" Gerald Everett playing with the Bears in 2025. (Source: Kevin Fishbain)
Fantasy Impact: Everett played in a very limited role last season. If he is released, Chicago can save $5.5 million against the cap.

Fantasy Impact: This is one way to open cap space for Buffalo this offseason. If Miller is a post-June 1 cut, the Bills can lower his cap figure down to $6.37 million and save $14.77 million. They save $8.4 million if he is not a post-June 1 cut.

There are reportedly "strong signs" that the Packers will part ways with Jaire Alexander this offseason. (Source: ESPN.com)
Fantasy Impact: Alexander has been limited to no more than seven games in three of the past four seasons. He is set to make $17.5 million if he's on the team next season. His release would free up $6.8 million in cap space if he’s designated as a pre-June 1 release.

The Bengals plan to place the franchise tag on Tee Higgins. (Source: James Rapien on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: It will be the non-exclusive franchise tag placed on Higgins. This will give the two sides more time to come to an agreement on an extension, and it sounds like Higgins wants to return to the Bengals.

Paulson Adebo has reportedly made progress in his recovery after suffering a broken femur. (Source: Paulson Adebo on Twitter)

The Minnesota Vikings' front office and pending free agent RB Aaron Jones Sr. have agreed to move back the void date on the veteran back's contract to the final day before free agency. (Source: Field Yates on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: This move allows Jones and the Vikings to have more time to discuss an extension, as Minnesota was set to take on $3.2 million in dead money in 2025. By moving the date back, the two sides can further work through a potential extension, with the front office likely wanting to minimize the cap hit it was set to take in the process during Jones' void year. This does not guarantee a deal will be made, but it shows both parties are interested in a longer partnership.
