Tiago Splitter retired from the NBA on Monday after seven seasons with the Spurs, 76ers, and Hawks. Splitter was drafted by the Spurs in 2007 but didn't make his NBA debut until 2010. He's now a reporter and will not make a return to the NBA.
Fantasy Impact
Splitter was not a fantasy option back in his day as a role player off the bench with the Spurs and Tim Duncan. He finished averaging 7.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Tiago Splitter will play on Tuesday versus the Nets. He will slide in behind Dario Saric, Richaun Holmes and Shawn Long but will see a few minutes with Saric on a 24 minutes cap.
Fantasy Impact
Splitter isn't fantasy relevant but it's worth noting for Holmes and Long as Saric is on a minutes cap.
Tiago Splitter is poised to make his season and team debut for the 76ers on Tuesday. Splitter hasn't played all season but was dealt by Atlanta at the deadline for Ersan Ilyasova. If he plays, expect a few minutes at most.
Fantasy Impact
Splitter isn't expected to make much of a season-debut but could steal a few minutes from Shawn Long. Richaun Holmes is still the preferred center to own on the 76ers. Dario Saric is still a must start.
Tiago Splitter may make his season-debut on Tuesday against the Nets after missing all season with multiple injuries. However, the game notes list Splitter as out so it remains to be seen if he can play.
Fantasy Impact
If Splitter does play, there's no way he plays more than 5-10 minutes of action after not playing a game this season. If he does play, Shawn Long will lose a few minutes.
Tiago Splitter could return at the end of March despite missing the entire season so far with injuries. Splitter got traded to the frontcourt needy 76ers for Ersan Ilyasova. The 76ers need any willing and able frontcourt player as they just signed Shawn Long.
Fantasy Impact
Even if Splitter does return at the end of the month, he would be able to play only six games this season. That seems unlikely and either way your not worried about adding him in fantasy.
