The Thunder traded Terrance Ferguson and Danny Green to the 76ers in exchange for Al Horford, second-round draft pick and a “lightly protected” 2025 first-round pick.
Fantasy Impact
Ferguson was thrown into the deal as the 76ers unloaded Al Horford’s bloated contract in a blockbuster trade on Wednesday. The 22-year-old has upside, but will compete with Jordan Richardson, Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton for minutes in the 76ers’ backcourt. Ferguson averaged 3.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.5 steals over 56 games for the Thunder last season.
Per Billy Donovan, Thunder G Terrance Ferguson has been ruled out of Monday’s game vs. Denver with a leg contusion.
Fantasy Impact
Ferguson saw just three minutes in the team’s first game, so his absence won’t have much of an effect on other members of the Thunder. That being said, Ferguson’s teammate Dennis Schroder has left the bubble for a personal reason, making both Luguentz Dort and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander great values in DFS.
Terrance Ferguson didn’t attempt a shot and grabbed one rebound across 11 minutes in the Thunder’s 109-103 win over the Cavs on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Ferguson returned from an eight-game injury layoff with very little fanfare, as he failed to make any significant contributions in the box score for fantasy owners. Ferguson's 3-and-D play is a valuable skill set for the Thunder in real life, but it hasn't translated to fantasy relevancy yet. Ferguson belongs on the waiver wire, even in deeper leagues.
Terrance Ferguson missed a game last week due to an illness and will now miss his second game for personal reasons, causing him to miss three straight contests.
Fantasy Impact
Due to the play of Chris Paul, Dennis Schroder, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ferguson has only been averaging 26 minutes per game in this crowded backcourt and has garnered little fantasy relevance. His name has been floating around in a lot of trade rumors lately and a change of scenery may help his production. His next chance to suit up for the Thunder will be Friday against the Hawks.
Terrance Ferguson scored 14 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 28 minutes in the Thunder's 117-104 victory over the Timberwolves.
Fantasy Impact
Monday's game against Minnesota was just the fifth time all season where Ferguson scored double digits. With that said, Ferguson can be left on the waiver wire and used as a cheap option for DFS tournaments.
