Tayshaun Prince will start tonight over Zach LaVine.
Fantasy Impact
Tayshaun has very little fantasy value, and is someone not worth playing in any format.
Prince played a youthful game versus the lackadaisical Phoenix Suns on Sunday. The Wolves won 117-87, snapping a nine-game losing streak. Prince scored six points - his highlight of the game coming with 10:45 left in the third quarter as he weaved through traffic in the lane to score on a layup.
Fantasy Impact
Prince doubled his average of 3.2 points per game. He remains in the starting lineup despite Shabazz Muhammad's rising stardom. Interim head coach Sam Mitchell says Prince's perimeter play allows Wiggins "to put more energy in offensively." If you have Prince in your fantasy lineup, dump him for Shabazz Muhammad.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to sign Tayshaun Prince to a one-year deal paying the veteran's minimum of at least $1.4 million
Fantasy Impact
Prince will add a veteran presence to a very young Timberwolves core that includes the three previous number one overall picks.
Prince playing his first game after being traded back to Detroit played 30 minutes, scoring seven points and grabbed four rebounds in the Pistons 102-93 loss to the Cavaliers.
Fantasy Impact
Prince will be the starting small forward for the rest of the season and provide leadership, defense and experience as the Pistons push towards a playoff spot. All of those things are real good for real basketball but don't help much in fantasy. Don't expect big numbers in any particular category even though he'll play a lot of minutes.
Hearing it's less likely that Tayshaun Prince is included in a deal before trade deadline, but buyout talks on hold until then just in case.
Fantasy Impact
The Celtics would prefer to trade Tayshaun Prince and continue to gain assets rather than just let Prince go in a buyout. There are many teams that could use Prince coming off the bench and will go after him if there is a buyout. Either way Prince is not going to be fantasy relevant on whichever team he ends up on. He is a 15-20 minute player now and does not have the volume of stats that makes him worth owning.
