Shelvin Mack has been claimed by the Hornets on Sunday off waivers after the Grizzlies sent him to Atlanta and the Hawks waived him shortly after. Mack will be fighting for minutes behind Kemba Walker with Tony Parker and Malik Monk.
Fantasy Impact
Mack is not in a better position in terms of fantasy after being claimed by the Hornets. Mack is best left on the waiver wire.
Shelvin Mack was able to get the start for the Grizzlies, due to Mike Conley's injury. Mack did not hesitate to shine, as he finished 8-of-15 shooting - which was good for 19 points - dished out nine assists, recorded two steals and grabbed one rebound. The guard was on the floor for 36 minutes against the Hornets, as well.
Fantasy Impact
Mack was an absolute steal on DFS platforms on Friday. The guard only cost $3500 in salary and finished with 37.7-FanDuel points. Unless Mike Conley misses extended time, Mack should not be added to season-long rosters. It will be interesting to see what will come of Mack in the coming days; the starter, Conley, is actively being shopped around the NBA with reports linking him to Utah. If Conley is traded, Mack becomes a great late-season addition for season-long leagues. Mack would obviously become a regular DFS option as well.
Shelvin Mack put in eight points, three dimes, three rebounds and one steal in 18 minutes of game action on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
It's hard to tell how or where Mack will land when the dust settles after the trade deadline so leave him on the wire and take a wait-and-see approach with him for now.
Shelvin Mack scored 14 points on 63 percent shooting from the field on Saturday. Mack added five dimes, three boards and a steal in 26 minutes of floor time.
Fantasy Impact
Mack has been on a little bit of a run lately, scoring in double-digits in six straight contests while draining a triple in five of those six games. Mack should continue seeing solid minutes and producing nicely with them until Kyle Anderson returns. Mack may be on the trade block as well.
Shelvin Mack ended his evening with 15 points, seven assists, three rebounds and one steal.
Fantasy Impact
Mack has been a solid DFS play over the last five games. Within the aforementioned games, he has scored 20-plus Fan Duel points four times. He is currently only $4,100 and travels to play the Raptors tonight, who are tough on point guards. Mack would be a better play than his cheaper teammate, Garrett Temple. Temple is in the starting five unlike Mack, but Mack has been outscoring Temple since the injury to Kyle Anderson.
