Pablo Prigioni officially retired from the NBA on Monday. Prigioni played four seasons in the NBA the Knicks, Rockets and Clippers. Prigioni made his debut in the NBA at the age of 35.
Fantasy Impact
Prigioni was a solid backup for the Knicks, Rockets and Clippers but failed to sign on with a team this season.
After being traded to Denver in the Ty Lawson deal, Pablo Prigioni has been waived by the Nuggets. The point guard has cleared waivers and will sign with the Clippers.
Fantasy Impact
The 37-year-old point guard figures to serve as emergency depth in case Chris Paul and/or Austin Rivers find themselves injured. Prigioni has no value in fantasy unless that happens.
New York's veteran point guard, Pablo Prigioni, was sent to the Rockets on Thursday in exchange for Alexy Shved and a pair of future second-round picks. Prigioni is averaging just 4.7 points and 2.4 assists per game this season but is a player who knows how to get his teammates involved. He will likely become Patrick Beverly's backup in Houston.
Fantasy Impact
This small deal will not have much fantasy impact at all. The significance in this trade is the two future draft picks that the Knicks acquired. New York has proven that they are demolishing the foundation of their 10-43 team in an effort to rebuild from scratch. Don't expect Prigioni or Shved to be relevant in the fantasy world.
Prigioni has missed New York's last five contests with a hip injury but will be active when the Knicks take on the Heat in Miami. However, it has yet to be seen how many minutes the veteran guard will see as Lance Galloway, Jose Calderon, Tim Hardaway, and Shane Larkin are all ahead of Prigioni on the depth chart.
Fantasy Impact
Prigioni has appeared in 42 games this season and is averaging a measly 4.7 points, 2.4 assists, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. He should not be rostered by any fantasy owners whatsoever.
Pablo Prigioni has sat out the last four games and is in danger of missing his fifth in a row when the New York Knicks take on the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Prigioni sees minimal court-time and should not be owned in any fantasy leagues. However, there is speculation that the Knicks are keeping him sidelined in order to avoid further injury as they shop him around the league. If the Knicks do end up trading the veteran point guard, Prigioni's value may increase a bit if he is moved to the right team but he still shouldn't be on any fantasy owner's radar.
