Nate Robinson

The Pelicans have officially waived Nate Robinson.

Fantasy Impact

In what seems to be a bit of a surprise move, or at least a sooner than expected move, the Pelicans have let Robinson go. In the two games this season Robinson averaged no points or rebound, two assists, and .5 steals in 11.5 minutes. He ran into early foul trouble in the season opener which left the door open for new acquisition Ish Smith to display his worth. Unfortunately for Robinson, Smith played quite well and ended up grabbing the lion's share of minutes for both games. Robinson should now be dropped in all leagues but monitored to see if another team in need of a point guard picks him up. Smith is now a more valuable add as he currently only has to give way to Jrue Holiday who is on a 20 minute playing restriction.

Nate Robinson recorded six points, five assists, one rebound, one three-pointer, and had one turnover. He went 2-of-9 from the field, including 1-of-4 from beyond the arc, and made 1-of-2 free throws.

Fantasy Impact

Jrue Holiday is on a minutes restriction (about 15) for the foreseeable future, Norris Cole recently sprained an ankle (out for up to six weeks), and Tyreke Evans recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery (no timetable as of yet). With all of these injuries, Robinson is going to see some relevant playing time for the start of the season. Whether or not he starts, Robinson will get his time and is worth a look in later rounds. His playing time will likely decrease as the season progresses, but for now he could be a sneaky spot play for those in need (as long as that need isn't for good field goal percentage).

Nate Robinson's second 10-day contract expired on Thursday. The team has not re-signed Robinson due to concerns with his knee injury. Robinson averaged 5.7 points and 2.3 assists over his nine games with the Clippers.

Fantasy Impact

Nate Robinson was not much of a fantasy player with the Clippers because he was not getting enough minutes to make a difference. Robinson could have had a bigger role, but was not used enough by Doc Rivers. This move does not have any fantasy impact and was expected as Jamal Crawford gets closer to recovering from his injury.

Nate Robinson has been receiving limited minutes with the Clippers. Robinson was able to score seven points against the Pelicans Sunday night. Robinson added three assists, three rebounds, and three steals.

Fantasy Impact

Nate Robinson is a high energy guy. With limited minutes, it is difficult for Robinson to develop a rhythm. With less than ten minutes, Robinson had a great game. The Clippers would be smart to reverse the minutes given to Robinson and Austin Rivers since Robinson is a more productive player. However, that will never happen and with limited minutes each night, Robinson does not deserve a fantasy start.

In limited minutes, Nate Robinson scored four points Wednesday night. Robinson also added two assists and a steal.

Fantasy Impact

Nate Robinson's time with the Clippers may be coming to an end soon. He will likely not be retained once Jamal Crawford comes back from injury. Robinson only saw nine minutes Wednesday night and is only on a 10-Day contract. If you need a bench guy he may have value for a few more days, but only in very deep leagues.
