Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been ruled out of the Mavericks' game on Friday against the Houston Rockets. Kidd-Gilchrist was a late arrival to the Orlando bubble and is not yet in game condition according to head coach Rick Carlisle.
Fantasy Impact
Kidd-Gilchrist has yet to be relevant in fantasy for the majority of the Mavericks' games. Kidd-Gilchrist did not have much of a role for Dallas, but he could be in line for more minutes as both Willie Cauley-Stein and Dwight Powell are out for the remainder of the season. Kidd-Gilchrist should return to the Mavericks lineup soon and could have a productive fantasy role moving forward.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has joined the Mavericks in Orlando and should be ready to play when the season resumes. Dallas was expecting Trey Burke to join the team around the same time that Kidd-Gilchrist did, but the team is still uncertain of when Burke will join them.
Fantasy Impact
Kidd-Gilchrist has had minimal fantasy value with the Mavericks so far. This could change however, as Dallas is going into the restart without Courtney Lee, Jalen Brunson, and Dwight Powell. In Charlotte, Kidd-Gilchrist played more significant minutes and was efficient as a scorer and in rebounding. If Dallas gives Kidd-Gilchrist an extended opportunity he should have some early season value in daily fantasy. It's unlikely that he can become a reliable option for your fantasy team, but he is worth keeping an eye on.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will not play in Wednesday's matchup against the Kings.
Fantasy Impact
Kidd-Gilchrist has yet to play since January 10th nor has he had his Mavericks' debut. Hopes are that the former 12th overall pick will be able to suit up and contribute after the All-Star break.
Former Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has agreed to sign with the Mavericks, per league sources this past Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Having fallen out of the Hornet’s rotation, the former number two overall pick of the 2012 draft received a buy-out last week from the Hornets. His move to the Mavericks comes after their release of shooting guard Ryan Broekhoff. Kidd-Gilchrist’s physical play hopes to provide a strong response to the West’s top-scoring talent for the Mavericks. He played 433 games for the Hornets and averaged 8.6 points and 5.5 rebounds.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist received a DNP-CD in Tuesday’s 125-110 loss to the Rockets.
Fantasy Impact
MKG has appeared in just one contest since Dec. 29, and he’s completely fallen out of the Hornets’ rotation. Charlotte will likely continue to give its young talent big minutes at the expense of underwhelming veterans like Kidd-Gilchrist, and the Kentucky product has no place on fantasy rosters, even in the deepest of leagues.
