The Sacramento Kings have parted ways with head coach Mike Brown.
Fantasy Impact
The Kings lost in the Play-In Tournament last season after breaking their playoff drought two years ago. They're off to a slow start this year with a 13-18 record and currently riding a five-game losing streak. It is a bit of a surprise timing wise. Brown signed a three-year extension through 2027 with the Kings in June. Doug Christie is expected to be the Kings interim head coach.
Mason Jones signed a two-way deal with the Sacramento Kings.
Fantasy Impact
Jones had been playing with the Stockton Kings, the Sacramento Kings G League affiliate. He'll look to earn a role in the rotation with Sacramento.
Mason Jones scored 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-5 3PT, 0-3 FT), handed out three assists, and snagged one rebound on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Jones notched his third highest scoring total of the season on Sunday, shooting an efficient 71% from the field, including 80% from beyond the arc. Even with the assortment of injuries plaguing the Rockets, Jones is still only averaging 10.3 minutes per game in the month of March. Jones should remain on the waiver wire for the foreseeable future.
Mason Jones posted 16 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 3PT, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists, and one turnover in 19 minutes off the bench during Saturday's win over the Mavericks.
Fantasy Impact
Jones was impressive on a per-minute basis and saw an increased role with Victor Oladipo given the night off. While he has the potential to post fantasy-friendly lines, he's too inconsistent at the moment for fantasy consideration outside of deeper leagues.
Mason Jones posted a career-high 24 points (8-12 FG, 6-8 3PT, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, four assists, and six turnovers in 35 minutes during the Rockets' loss to the Spurs on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
It was quite the coming-out party for the 22-year-old rookie as he shattered his previous career-marks en route to 24 points on 66.7 percent shooting. He made the most of his increased opportunities with John Wall and Eric Gordon out of the lineup and Victor Oladipo not ready to make his Rockets debut. If Houston is short-handed once again on Monday, Jones could offer some sneaky upside as a streamer and great value in DFS.
