Martell Webster has retired from the NBA after signing a camp deal with the Pelicans. Webster will end his comeback after not playing since 2014 for the Wizards. The former first-round pick played for the Blazers, Wolves, and Wizards.
Fantasy Impact
Webster was never a fantasy stud but the Pelicans wanted to give him a chance since Solomon Hill (hamstring) is out. Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday take over at guard with Dante Cunningham starting at SF until Hill returns.
Martell Webster has agreed to join the Pelicans on a training camp deal. Webster last played for the Wizards back in 2014 but the Pelicans have a major hole at SF with Solomon Hill out and Dante Cunningham still not re-signed. Webster will be competing for one of the final roster spots.
Fantasy Impact
Webster isn't likely to make a fantasy wave this season after missing the last few seasons in the NBA. At this time, Darius Miller will start at SF with Tony Allen seeing more minutes.
Martell Webster picked up extra playing in the blowout loss to the Cavs and had four points, three rebounds, and one assist.
Fantasy Impact
After being an consistent contributor for the Wizards over the past two seasons, Webster fell out of the rotation this season. This is the first time this season that he crossed the 20-minute threshold so he shouldn't be on any fantasy radars.
