Jordan Hill has been waived by the Wolves on Monday. Hill only played in seven games this past season after 73 games against the Pacers the prior season. Look for him to sign on with a team in need of a big.
Fantasy Impact
Hill averaged over eight points and six boards per game the prior season in Indiana but was completely not utilized in Minnesota even without Nikola Pekovic. Hill's not a fantasy asset.
With starting center Ian Mahinmi ruled out for tonight's game against the Raptors, Hill will draw the start at center.
Fantasy Impact
In eight games this season without Mahinmi in the lineup, Hill has averaged 27 minutes, 12.0 points and 6.9 rebounds per game making him a solid, cheap DFS options tonight.
Hill finished Wednesday's game against the Bucks with 19 points (8-for-12 field-goal, 3-for-4 free-throw), seven rebounds, and one assist in 23 minutes off the bench.
Fantasy Impact
Hill was pretty efficient in his time on the court Wednesday night, in finishing with 19 points on only 12 shots. However, Hill has been a pretty inconsistent option for fantasy owners off the bench, as he's only scored in double digits nine times since the New Year. Hill could be a viable option if the Pacers front court suffers major injuries, but until then, his value is extremely limited.
Starting for the injured Ian Mahinmi, Hill finished with 17 points (8-for-13 field-goal, 1-for-1 free-throw), six rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal in 36 minutes.
Fantasy Impact
Hill has put up back-to-back strong performances in Mahinmi's absence, averaging 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 blocks in 37.5 minutes. Hill has always put up solid numbers when given the minutes, so keep an eye on Mahinmi's status leading up to Wednesday's game versus the Nets. If Mahinmi is unable to play again, Hill makes for a cheap DFS option at the center position.
In only 20 minutes, Hill finished with 10 points (5-for-7 field-goal), 12 rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal in Monday's overtime loss to Miami.
Fantasy Impact
Hill had been slumping the past few games, but came through with his best performance in over a week on Monday night. Hill's value will be limited to the health of the big men in front of him in Coach Vogel's rotation. However, if any injuries arise in the Pacer's front court, look for Hill's value to rise exponentially.
