Orlando has officially declined the fourth-year team option on Jett Howard's contract, according to Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
The decision wasn't unexpected, as Howard has had difficulty carving out a consistent role for the Magic. He will now become an unrestricted free agent following the 2025-26 season. Declining the option could also make Orlando more open to trading Howard before this season's deadline.
Jett Howard scored 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-7 3P) with a rebound and an assist in the Magic's 117-105 loss to the Hawks on Sunday; he also committed six turnovers.
Fantasy Impact
Howard struggled with turning the ball over in this matchup, committing more himself than the rest of the bench unit combined. He did put up at least 16 points in the Magic's final two games, but it's tough to find a path for him moving forward to fantasy relevance.
Jett Howard (ankle) has been cleared to play in Thursday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Fantasy Impact
Howard has been out for the last five games because of an ankle injury, but the team has cleared him to make his return to the lineup on Thursday. Franz Wagner (conditioning) is also set to make his return to the rotation, so fantasy managers shouldn't have high expectations for Howard for the foreseeable future.
Jett Howard (ankle) is considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Fantasy Impact
Howard has already been out for a while because of an ankle injury, and it's very possible that he will miss Thursday's game as well, as he is questionable to play for the time being. His absence would lead to more work for Caleb Houstan in Orlando's rotation.
Jett Howard (ankle) is sidelined for Tuesday's game against the Toronto Raptors.
Fantasy Impact
Howard had a chance to play on Tuesday, but the team has officially decided to leave him sidelined on Tuesday. His return will be delayed for a few days at least, which will once again leave Tristan da Silva and Caleb Houstan with more opportunities in Orlando's rotation.
