Fred Katz is reporting that Jerian Grant has officially signed with the Wizards.
Fantasy Impact
Grant will replace Davis Bertan in Orlando, to add some back court depth for the Wizards’ roster. The guard signed earlier this year with the Capital Go-Go of the G-League, but has been inactive all season. Grant can be left on waiver wires as he will be an end of the roster player for the Wizards, when the team resumes the season on July 31st, versus the Suns.
The Wizards are expected to sign free agent guard Jerian Grant.
Fantasy Impact
Grant would replace Davis Bertans on the Wizards roster. He signed a G-League contract with the Capital City Go-Gos back in December and has yet to play an NBA contest this season. The 27-year-old averaged 4.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.7 triples across 60 games for the Magic in the 2018-19 campaign. Grant will provide the Wizards guard depth off the bench and isn't on the fantasy radar once the NBA season resumes in Orlando.
Jerian Grant was held out of Wednesday's game against the Jazz. Grant had only played a total of 11 minutes in the previous three games.
Fantasy Impact
Head coach Steve Clifford has been trying use different lineup rotations to spark some life into Orlando's struggling bench play. Grant has seen his minutes drop off considerably since late December, while Wesley Iwundu has seen more opportunities. Grant should remain on fantasy waivers.
Jerian Grant went 4-for-10 from the field Monday night (including 1-for-4 from three-point range), scoring nine points in his return to Orlando's rotation as the Magic fell to the Hornets, 125-100, to close out 2018.
Fantasy Impact
Grant had only seen nine minutes in Orlando's last two games combined, so his 26 minutes of action were a welcome sight to fantasy owners. Grant has not contributed much in the way of points this year - he's only averaging 4.3 points per game, and his season-high is 13 (the nine that he scored Monday night ties his second-highest total, which he's reached on two other occasions this season).
Jerian Grant will get the start for the Magic on Monday against the Hornets.
Fantasy Impact
With Orlando having little to no depth in the back-court tonight, Grant could see huge minutes and is a strong streamer in DFS. Evan Fournier should see some added opportunities as well.
