Availability
Jason Smith was dealt to the Pelicans along with Stanley Johnson and multiple second-round picks in exchange for Nikola Mirotic.
Fantasy Impact
Smith has been out for multiple weeks with a knee injury. He will fill out the end of the bench for the Pelicans and will not hold any fantasy value unless they deal more of their big men.
Jason Smith has been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks as the Wizards jump in on this three-team deal. Sam Dekker will be headed to Washington while George Hill also joins Jason Smith in Milwaukee. Cleveland gets draft picks plus Matthew Dellavedova and John Henson in this deal.
Fantasy Impact
Even with Dwight Howard out of the lineup, Smith played in just two of the past seven games as Thomas Bryant emerged as the starting replacement. Smith should be left on the waiver wire as well as Dekker.
Jason Smith played 24 minutes, scoring seven points with six rebounds, four assists and two blocks in the Wizards’ loss to the Memphis Grizzies.
Fantasy Impact
Smith played a season-high 24 minutes, which in turn, resulted in his best game of the season. However, don’t expect these numbers from Smith to last for long. Smith, who didn’t even play in the Wizards’ previous two games, is simply filling in for a concussed Markieff Morris.
Jason Smith will start on Wednesday against the 76ers with Markieff Morris unavailable. Smith should see plenty of minutes while Mike Scott backs him up.
Fantasy Impact
Anytime Smith gets the starting nod, he's worth a look in DFS formats. With Morris out, it's a bigger boost for Otto Porter and Marcin Gortat.
Jason Smith will play in Game 6 despite the calf injury he suffered in Game 5. Smith will backup Marcin Gortat as Ian Mahinmi is out for the rest of the series.
Fantasy Impact
Smith is a sneaky DFS play without an injury but with a calf injury, he's a very risky DFS play. Smith is the only viable backup behind Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat so he could see 20 plus minutes.
