Isaiah Hartenstein plans to sign a three-year, $87 million deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Fantasy Impact
The question was going to be whether Hartenstein would take a big contract with the Thunder that the Knicks couldn't match to retain him, which wound up being the case. He came up huge for the Knicks last season while Mitchell Robinson was sidelined, and now steps into a role behind Chet Holmgren in Oklahoma City. He could also play a bigger role in certain games against bigger centers. In New York, Robinson figures to take back over his starting role.
The Thunder are meeting with free agent center Isaiah Hartenstein.
Fantasy Impact
Hartenstein had been linked to Orlando, but they appear focused on adding a wing. It appears a deal with the Thunder or a return to the Knicks seem most likely for the free agent center.
It reportedly becomes more difficult for the Knicks to re-sign Isaiah Hartenstein following the trade for Mikal Bridges.
Fantasy Impact
Hartenstein was already expected to test the open market, but it was still possible he could have re-signed with New York. With the trade for Bridges, the Knicks are unlikely to be able to afford to bring back Hartenstein. They'll have Mitchell Robinson returning as of now and could draft a big man with one of their three draft picks to make up for losing Hartenstein.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly viewed as a serious threat to sign Isaiah Hartenstein away from the Knicks.
Fantasy Impact
The Thunder are expected to have over $35 million in cap space available. New York remains the favorite to re-sign Hartenstein, but OKC could be a team to monitor if the big man decides to look elsewhere.
Isaiah Hartenstein reportedly could receive up to $100 million in free agency this offseason.
Fantasy Impact
Hartenstein averaged a career-high 25 minutes on the court this season, starting 49 of the 75 games he played in as Mitchell Robinson dealt with injuries. The strong play of Hartenstein continued into the Knicks playoff run as well and he should land a big deal in free agency.
