Elton Brand played only 17 games last season for the Philadelphia 76ers in his 17th season in the NBA. Brand was drafted by the Chicago Bulls back in 1999 with the #1 overall pick out of Duke. Brand played for five teams including the Bulls, Clippers, 76ers (twice), Mavericks and Hawks before finishing his careers with 76ers. Brand finished his career averaging 15.8 PPG and 8.5 RPG while shooting a career 50% from the field in over 1,000 games played. Brand was also a two-time All Star and will earn $1 million this season even in retirement.
Fantasy Impact
Brand, whose 37 years old, will likely look to join a team with a front office role according to sources.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been without Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor, which has given veteran Elton Brand some playing time. The 37-year old made the most of 23 minutes on Saturday, hauling in 10 rebounds and dishing out four assists versus the Pacers.
Fantasy Impact
Brand is averaging only 12 minutes, 4.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13 games this season. His fantasy value is extremely limited and it would be a surprise if Brand plays next season for the 76ers or for anyone else.
Elton Brand has announced his retirement this offseason.
Fantasy Impact
The former All-Star, who played 36 games for Atlanta last season, didn't have many more achievements left to gain outside of winning an MVP award or a ring. He hinted that he's still open to playing if a team called him, but his mind is focused on family right now. The 16-year vet will have finished his career averaging 16.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.
