Payton must have a thing for Mondays. The last double-digit assist game he had was also on a Monday, back in November. Fun fact: he has averaged 9.8 assists on Monday games this year, greatly helped by two massive performances. On all other days, that total goes down to 4 assists per game. Its a fun, albeit near useless, stat since Payton is hardly involved in the Pelicans rotation. He's best left on waivers.

Payton previously had a short stint with the Pelicans earlier this season before joining the Hornets. While his scoring remains minimal, his ability to contribute in assists and steals could provide some short-term value in deeper leagues.
