Blazers forward Dorell Wright will miss the next four to six weeks with a fracture in his left hand. Wright suffered the injury Wednesday, during the Blazers loss to the Clippers.
Fantasy Impact
Another tough blow for the Blazers depth, who are missing Wesley Matthews for the rest of the season as well. Wright's timetable would provide a return, if Portland can advance to the second round of the playoffs. C.J. McCollum looks to be the biggest beneficiary, as the Blazers went with a smaller lineup at times Friday playing McCollum and/or Arron Afflalo at the small forward spot.
Dorell Wright got the start in place of injured power forward LaMarcus Aldridge (left thumb) and proceeded to put up a season high 15 points with five assists, three rebounds, two steals, and two turnovers in 35 minutes (he fouled out). He shot 4-10 from the field, 3-6 from three-point range, and 4-6 at the free throw line.
Fantasy Impact
Aldridge does not yet have a timetable to return so for how long Wright's fantasy relevance will last is currently unknown. It is not known whether Wright will continue to start but he has produced well over the last two games and coach Terry Stotts did not seem to have a problem leaving Wright in there for extended minutes despite foul trouble.
Dorell Wright scored nine points with two rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two turnovers in 16 minutes. He shot 3-6 from the field, 1-3 from three-point range, and 2-2 at the free throw line.
Fantasy Impact
Dorell Wright normally does not play enough minutes to be even close to fantasy relevant (he has played over 20 minutes once this year) but with the injury to Aldridge there is a chance that Wright might see more work if coach Terry Stotts decides to go small, thus making Wright very deep league relevant.
