C.J. Watson

C.J. Watson has been waived by the Magic on Monday after the team reached an agreement with Shelvin Mack this past week. Mack and D.J. Augustin will man the backup point duties with Mack possibly playing alongside Elfrid Payton also.

Fantasy Impact

Watson would've been on the books for $5 million if kept on the roster so it was an easy decision for the team after signing Mack. Watson is off the fantasy radar but will look to sign on elsewhere.

C.J. Watson will play on Friday against Miami. Watson started four games before missing the last three games while Elfrid Payton came off the bench. It remains to be seen how coach Frank Vogel starts his team on Friday but expect Payton to start and Watson to come off the bench.

Fantasy Impact

Watson is a very risky daily play while Payton and D.J. Augustin both lose some value with his return. Payton is the player to own but he has been very hit-or-miss in daily. Owners are likely shying away from Payton.

C.J. Watson will miss at least another week due to a sore Achilles. This rules him out for Saturday against Atlanta and looks to be out on Wednesday against New York and Friday against Miami. Elfrid Payton will continue to start at point guard with D.J. Augustin seeing more minutes.

Fantasy Impact

Payton was horrible in his previous game so he will look to bounce back against the Hawks on Saturday. Evan Fournier and Terrence Ross also receive a boost and should be kept in mind when making your daily rosters.

C.J. Watson has been ruled out due to an Achilles tendon strain for Thursday night's game against the Trail Blazers. Elfrid Payton expected to start.

Fantasy Impact

With Watson out, Payton should see an increase in minutes as he re-enters the starting lineup for the Magic at home against Portland. Payton is now a good DFS option to outperform his salary.

Another shake up to the starting lineup for the Magic moving Elfrid Payton to the bench and C.J. Watson will start. Watson will be joined by Evan Fournier, Mario Hezonja, Serge Ibaka and Nikola Vucevic.

Fantasy Impact

This is a surprising move by coach Frank Vogel even with Watson playing better lately. This news doesn't bode well for D.J. Augustin but Elfrid Payton shouldn't be effected. Fournier is a solid play as usual.
