Anderson Varejao

Anderson Varejao contributed one point (0-4 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, and one block in Wednesday night's blowout loss to Portland.

Fantasy Impact

Varejao hadn't appeared in an NBA game since 2017 with the Warriors. He saw seven minutes of action and was able to bring down six boards. With six contests remaining for the Cavaliers, Varejao will probably get at least some playing time most nights.

Anderson Varejao plans to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the remainder of this season.

Fantasy Impact

The 13-year veteran spent 12 season with Cleveland. He will provide some depth for the team behind Jarrett Allen.

Anderson Varajeo will be waived by the Warriors even though the Warriors are short-handed in the frontcourt. Varajeo was the backup center on Thursday with Zaza Pachulia out. There must be optimism that Pachulia and David West will return soon. James Michael McAdoo also played very well making the decision easier.

Fantasy Impact

Varajeo will look to latch on to a contender down the stretch. He could very well be headed back to Cleveland and backup Tristan Thompson.

Anderson Varejao will join the Warriors at the veteran minimum salary. Varejao was traded by the Cavs to the Blazers at the deadline, but Portland quickly waived him. Prior to signing with the Warriors, Varejao also received interest from the Spurs.

Fantasy Impact

Varejao played a limited role with the Cavs this season, but he was coveted by the Warriors since Golden State is dealing with injuries to several big men, including Festus Ezeli and Andrew Bogut. It's unclear if Varejao will become fantasy relevant with his new team, but he'll more likely be a role player without much fantasy impact this season.

This is a three team trade with Orlando as well. Cleveland trades F/C Anderson Varajeo and a conditional 1st round pick to Portland. Cleveland also sends F Jared Cunningham to Orlando. Portland will send a 2nd round to pick Orlando. In return Cleveland gets F/C Channing Frye. Initial reports are that Portland plans to waive Varajeo.

Fantasy Impact

There's not much in terms of fantasy implications here. Varajeo was behind Love, Thompson, and Mozgov in Cleveland. He will be able to latch onto a playoff term if waived by Portland. Frye won't make a fantasy impact either.
