According to Marc Stein, C Amir Johnson has emerged as a prime target for the Nets after losing Nicholas Claxton and DeAndre Jordan.
Fantasy Impact
The Nets are in dire need of frontcourt help and it appears that Amir Johnson could be the next man up. Johnson's role would be added depth behind starting center Jarrett Allen, who is primed for an uptick in minutes. As a 14-year veteran of the NBA, Johnson provides solid interior defense but cannot be relied upon to play a lot of minutes. Philadelphia waived Johnson at the end of the 2018-2019 season so he'll have to knock off some of the rust before the season resumes in a few weeks. Johnson does not offer much in terms of production and should he sign with the Nets, he can be ignored for DFS purposes.
Amir Johnson received the start at the five Wednesday night against Chicago, playing 20 minutes and scoring nine points to go along with eight rebounds as the 76ers fell to the Bulls.
Fantasy Impact
With Joel Embiid (knee) and Boban Marjanovich (knee) still resting injuries and Jonah Bolden recently active again following his own injury, Johnson got the start and saw his second consecutive 20-minute night. Johnson is nothing more than a part-time fill-in even on his own team, which should be all you need to know as a DFS owner.
Amir Johnson will remain in the starting five for Philly's matchup with the Bulls in Chicago on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Johnson was solid when he had the front-court all to himself, but with youngster Jonah Bolden back tonight, Johnson is unlikely to make a big fantasy impact.
Johnson, who has been used sparingly of late, started on Tuesday and scored 13 points. He hit 5-of-9 from the floor, hauled in five rebounds, added two blocks and two assists in 20 minutes.
Fantasy Impact
Johnson was averaging just 3.8 points in 9.5 minutes per game this season. His 13 points on Tuesday tied a season high and the 20 minutes was his highest of the season.
Amir Johnson will play on Tuesday despite being sick.
Fantasy Impact
With Bolden and Embiid out, Johnson is the next man up and is a daily cheap value play in Tuesday's game. Tobias Harris benefits greatly with Embiid out again.
