Elfrid Payton shut out in season finale against the Celtics
by Brad Camara | Sun, May 16th 9:46pm EDT
Elfrid Payton managed zero points (0-4 FG), four rebounds, and one assist across 14 minutes during Sunday’s 96-92 win over the Celtics.
Fantasy Impact:
Payton was the Knicks starting point guard in 2020-21 but was outplayed by veteran Derrick Rose and rookie Immanuel Quickley. He finished the season poorly, failing to score double figures in his last seven games. Payton’s role in the rotation was drastically reduced as the season wore on and he continued to lose playing time to Rose and Quickley. Payton finishes the 2020-21 campaign averaging 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.4 triples across 23.6 minutes.
