Per Khimki Moscow GM Pavel Astakhov, guard Alexey Shved would consider a return to the NBA if he receives guarantees that he’ll be given a satisfactory role on the team. (Eurohoops on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
“I think that if he has any serious proposal from the NBA – and it’s not even about money but about his role on the team – then it won’t be easy to keep him,” Astakhov said. Shved has become a star in the Russian league since joining Khimki in 2015 after playing three seasons in the NBA with four different teams. In his NBA career, he averaged 7.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 182 games played. Meanwhile, for Khimki, Shved has averaged 20.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in five seasons. He’s set to become a free agent this summer, and Astakhov has made it clear he’d like the All-Star guard to return. However, he said, “due to the overall situation in EuroLeague, we are all on pause. If we finish the season, we will immediately proceed to further negotiations [with Shved].”
