Luken Baker has displayed improved bat speed this spring and has hit a team-leading three home runs in 11 Grapefruit League games, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Fantasy Impact
Baker dedicated the offseason to increasing his bat speed, which now sits at 79 mph—up significantly from his 73.9 mph average in 2024. That mark would have ranked second in all of baseball last season, trailing only Giancarlo Stanton (81.2 mph). With his improved power, Baker is expected to open the season as a starter against left-handed pitching, splitting time between designated hitter and first base. If he continues to excel, he could earn more opportunities against righties as well.
