The Athletics reassigned Kyle McCann to minor league camp Monday.
Fantasy Impact
McCann spent all of 2024 on Oakland’s active roster as a backup catcher but was designated for assignment in January before clearing waivers. Despite getting a look in big league camp, the Athletics opted to move forward with Jhonny Pereda or Tyler Soderstrom behind Shea Langeliers. McCann is likely to open the 2025 season at Triple-A Las Vegas, where he’ll provide organizational depth behind the plate.
