After being designated for assignment, the Giants placed Zack Cozart on unconditional release waivers.
Fantasy Impact
Cozart has been a fantasy-relevant player in the past during his time with the Reds, but he is most likely to take on a more limited role at this point in his career. He could pop up on the fantasy radar again as a versatile middle infielder with some pop, but as of now he's not someone to consider.
Angels infielder Zack Cozart is being placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a left shoulder issue. Outfielder Cesar Puello has been recalled.
Fantasy Impact
Cozart is hitting just .124 through 97 at-bats this season and had lost his starting job to the emerging Tommy La Stella but had been seeing more playing time of late due to an injury to Andrelton Simmons.
Zack Cozart went 1-for-2 with a single and a walk on Sunday against the Orioles.
Fantasy Impact
Cozart's hitting .136/.189/.160 with no homers through 28 games played, he's not worthy at all of a roster spot based on the numbers.
Cozart was activated ahead of Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
Fantasy Impact
Considered by some to be a decent deep-league sleeper, Cozart has gotten off to a terrible start to the season with a .109//157/.125 slash line and just four RBIs in 70 homer-less plate appearances. He can remain on the waiver wire in the majority of leagues until he shows improvement.
The Angels have placed Zack Cozart on the 10-day injured list with a strained neck.
Fantasy Impact
Cozart injured his neck on Monday night versus the Yankees. He hasn't been in the lineup either of the past two games so the Angels figured an IL stint was worthwhile. The move has been made retroactive to April 24th.
