Zach Lee in the mix for the Dodgers fifth rotation spot

With the bevy of injuries to the starting rotation, Zach Lee is in the mix for the fifth spot. Against the White Sox on Saturday, he allowed eight hits and two earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. He did not walk or strike out a batter.

Fantasy Impact

If he does win the final rotation spot, Lee, the former top prospect of the Dodgers, may not even be relevant in the deepest of leagues. The righty does not throw hard or strike out batters at a high rate. In 4 2/3 innings with the big club last year, he allowed 11 hits and seven earned runs. He is not being selected in fantasy drafts.

Rough debut for Zach Lee

Zach Lee got roughed up by the Mets in his major league debut. He allowed seven earned runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings pitched. Lee walked one and struck out two. 56-of-90 pitches were thrown for strikes.

Fantasy Impact

Lee's arsenal is average all around. He throws a fastball in the 88-91 mph range, a cutter, changeup, slider, and curveball. He does not possess a put away pitch. Lee will probably get sent down to the minors as the front office should shore up the starting rotation with the trade deadline fast approaching.

Zach Lee to start today

Zach Lee gets his first career start Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

The 2010 first round pick of the Dodgers is known for his excellent control and mature approach. His minor league numbers haven't been spectacular, but he faces he Mets, so he could be in-line for a successful debut.

Zach Lee hurls two shutout innings

The Dodgers 2010 1st round pick, Zach Lee, started Friday's Spring Training game against the Milwaukee Brewers. He struck out one batter, walked another, gave up a balk, and did not allow a hit in two innings pitched.

Fantasy Impact

Lee has been often mentioned as a piece in potential trades. He possesses good mound presence and a full repertoire of pitches. The only problem is that none of them are plus rated. He projects as a mid-rotation starter that eats up innings.
