Wilmer Font gave up four runs over five hits over 1/3 of an inning on Tuesday as the Blue Jays lost to the Braves by a 10-1 score.
Fantasy Impact
Font did not look good on Tuesday in his third appearance of the season. The 30-year-old righty now has a 27.00 ERA and 4.80 WHIP and can be left on the waiver wire by fantasy owners.
Wilmer Font was placed on the injured list for undisclosed reasons Monday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Fantasy Impact
Font is expected to come out of the bullpen for the team this season. The 30-year-old journeyman had his best season in 2019 finishing with a 4-5 record with a 4.48 ERA, 1.27 WHIP over 84 1/3 innings with two holds.
Wilmer Font threw two scoreless innings as the opener against the Dodgers on Wednesday, giving up one hit, striking out four and walking two as the Blue Jays eventually fell 2-1.
Fantasy Impact
The Blue Jays have been using Font in an opener role for the team. The 29-year-old has a 4.27 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 70/23 K/BB ratio across 65 1/3 innings of work (nine starts) at the major-league level this season and can be left on the waiver wire.
Mets starter Wilmer Font allowed two earned runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three over four innings in a no-decision against the Washington Nationals on Monday.
Fantasy Impact
It was rumored that Font wasn't even going to start Monday's game and would work out of the bullpen instead, but he was a surprise addition to the starting lineup. He now has a 6.66 ERA over 24 1/3 innings and is not a lock to make his next start which would likely come against the Detroit Tigers at home.
Wilmer Font will be on the mound for New York against the Washington Nationals. The Mets originally announced Drew Gagnon as the starter, but changed their minds shortly after.
Fantasy Impact
For Monday, Font would be risky to rely on in any fantasy format. In his last outting against the Nationals he threw 2.1 innings and allowed five earned runs on six hits, two walks and two strikeouts.
