The Blue Jays have optioned Tommy Nance to the team's Spring Training Complex.

Nance will lose his spot on the roster to Brett de Geus. After Nance appeared in three of the last four games, the Blue Jays needed a fresh arm for their bullpen.

Nance will sit out the next few weeks with a right groin strain that he seems to have sustained in the Marlins game against the Pirates on Saturday. He has been mainly disappointing this season as a multi-inning reliever for the Marlins, sporting a 5.76 ERA and 1.72 WHIP with a 35:13 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 25 innings.

Tommy Nance tossed an inning of relief in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, allowing no runs on one hit and no walks while striking out the side.

Nance made his season debut for the Marlins back on May 9 and has really impressed since. The towering righty has logged 7 2/3 innings across six relief appearances so far, putting together a 1.17 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 10-to-4 K/BB ratio.
