Fantasy Impact
Delabar saw his ERA balloon from 1.31 at the end of June, to 3.33 in July. Delabar sports a 3.33 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched for the Jays this year.
Steve Delabar came on to pitch in relief of Liam Hendricks in the eighth inning with two outs and the Jays down by two runs. He was able to close the inning out without any further damage, then pitched a clean ninth inning. Delabar came away with the win as Josh Donaldson walked the Jays off in the bottom of the ninth thanks to a three run home run to give the Jays the 10-9 victory.
Fantasy Impact
Delabar has pitched well since being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo with a 1.17 ERA, a 0.91 WHIP, and 10 strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched. Aside from Roberto Osuna, Delabar has been one of the more reliable arms out of the bullpen, showing signs of the pitcher that was an All-Star in 2013.
Steve Delabar came on in relief of Drew Hutchison in the seventh inning with two outs and runners on first and second. Delabar uncorked a wild pitch to move both runners into scoring position, then gave up a two strike double to Mark Krauss to give the Angels a 4-3 lead.
Fantasy Impact
The blown save is the first for Delabar who is currently third on the closer depth chart behind Roberto Osuna, and closer Brett Cecil.
Steve Delabar came on in relief in the ninth inning with a 7-0 lead, pitching a clean inning with two strikeouts.
Fantasy Impact
Delabar was recently recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, and has been great in his first two appearances, pitching two innings with two strikeouts and a walk. Should Brett Cecil falter as the closer, Delabar or Roberto Osuna would be the logical choices to replace him.
Steve Delabar made his season debut for the Jays, pitching a scoreless inning while walking one batter
Fantasy Impact
Steve Delabar struggled during the Spring, which led to him starting the season with Triple-A Buffalo. The main concern with Delabar was the ineffectiveness of his splitter. If he continues to pitch well for the Jays, and Cecil begins to falter, he could be a candidate to close games. For now, he will be a middle relief option.
