Ryan Sherriff struck out one in a perfect ninth inning, earning the save in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Mariners.
Fantasy Impact
The Rays continue to rotate relievers for save opportunities and Sherriff received a chance on Wednesday. The 31-year-old lefty hasn't allowed an earned run in six consecutive appearances and has a 4.82 ERA and 1.50 WHIP this season.
Ryan Sherriff pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his first save of the season in Friday's 2-1 wino ver the Orioles.
Fantasy Impact
Sherriff needed just nine pitches to slam the door. Nick Anderson took care of the 2-3-4 hitters in the eighth inning, which left the ninth for Sherriff. He isn't worth adding, though, as Tampa Bay is always mixing and matching in the ninth inning.
Ryan Sherriff (toe) will begin his rehab assignment at Triple-A Memphis Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Sherriff's right toe fracture appears to be healed. The left-hander will need to be able to pitch in back-to-back games before being able to return to the Cardinals bullpen.
Ryan Sherriff was placed on the 10-day DL with a fractured toe Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Sherriff suffered the toe fracture when he was hit by a comebacker on his foot during Friday's game against the Dbacks. The Cardinals haven't given a timetable for his return, so it's unclear when Sherriff will be able to rejoin the roster.
