Ross Ohlendorf improved to 3-0 on the year as he earned the win in the Rangers 6-2 victory over Houston on Friday. Ohlendorf tossed a perfect 1.1 innings of relief, striking out two, as starter Yovani Gallardo last just 4.2 innings.

Ross Ohlendorf earned his first victory of the season as he was the pitcher of record when the Rangers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat Boston 4-3 today.

Ohlendorf was the fifth pitcher of the day used by manager Jeff Bannister. He allowed a hit and a walk in the top of the ninth, but was able to escape the jam and get the "W."

The Texas Rangers continue to add arms to their bullpen with the signing of former Washington National Ross Ohlendorf. Ohlendorf inks a minor league deal with an invitation to join the club at spring training.

Fantasy Impact

The seven-year major league veteran missed all of last season with a back injury, and is not being counted on to be anything more than another arm to have in the pen. Ohlendorf has played for four different teams with his best year coming in 2009 when he went 11-10 with a 3.92 ERA for the Pirates. Pirate fans will remember he went a miserable 1-11 the next year. Fantasy value is minimal at best.
