Rookie Davis allowed three runs on four hits over three innings in the Pirates' 10-4 loss to the Brewers on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

It was a rough outing for Davis, something he is no stranger to based on his history. He had a 5.35 ERA at Triple-A prior to his promotion, and put up an 8.63 ERA in six starts for Cincinnati in 2017, his only prior big league experience. His next start comes Wednesday at Atlanta, but no fantasy owner should deploy him in that or any situation.

Rookie Davis pitched three innings allowing four earned runs in a no-decision Thursday versus the Phillies in his major league debut. Davis did not display the best command and got himself into a pitch count issue early which caused his early exit. He allowed four earned runs, two walks, and four strikeouts.

Fantasy Impact

Davis likely does not have much fantasy impact in the large majority of leagues. However, this was his first major league start and he has the tools to be successful in the majors. He started throwing a slider at the end of spring training which could be a good put away put but needs to become more consistent with it. If he does that he could become a sneaky spot start for deeper leagues.
