Robbie Ross has four consecutive scoreless outings

Robbie Ross has put together four consecutive scoreless outings, striking out five with one walk and three hits over five innings. Ross has mostly been good of the pen for the Red Sox, with the one glaring blemish a six-run appearance during a 21-2 loss to the Angels two weeks ago.

Fantasy Impact

Ross will not be getting any save chances out of the bullpen for the Sox but has been getting holds. If you are in a league that values the holds stat then Ross is someone to keep an eye on.

Robbie Ross earns save number six

Robbie Ross picked up his sixth save as Boston's closer Sunday against the Orioles. Ross struck out two and allowed one hit while lowering his season ERA to 3.99.

Fantasy Impact

Well, it wasn't a clean save for Robbie Ross, but they never are. What's important is that Ross kept the Orioles off the board and preserved a Red Sox win. Since most leagues are wrapping up right now there isn't much you could do with Ross and he's unlikely to start 2016 in a closer role. He could be worth watching depending on if he is moved or if Koji Uehara breaks down again.

Robbie Ross with third save in as many days

Robbie Ross locked down his third save in the last three days Monday night against the Rays. Ross did allow one earned run on one hit (a home run) and struck out one. The save was Ross's fifth since taking over as Boston's closer.

Fantasy Impact

Once again Robbie Ross earned a save with something other than a clean inning. Closers like Fernando Rodney have been successful taking this route, but they sure tend to be a wild ride. If you're looking at Ross for saves at this point in the season you must be desperate, so you'll just have to do what you think is right.

Robbie Ross locks down saves three and four

Robbie Ross closed out the final two games of Boston's weekend series against the Blue Jays to earn saves three and four on the season. Both outings were a little tense as Ross's aggregate line was two IP, two ER, three hits and one walk with only one strikeout.

Fantasy Impact

Robbie Ross's tenure as Boston's closer hasn't been the prettiest, but he has gotten the job done. If you need saves right now he will get some, but he'll also surrender some hits and some runs along the way.

Robbie Ross earns second save

Robbie Ross picked up his second save of the season Sunday in the 13th inning of Boston's 2-0 win over the Rays. Ross allowed one hit and struck out one en route to his second save in as many tries.

Fantasy Impact

Since Koji Uehara went down it has been a revolving door of relievers getting opportunities to close out games for the Red Sox. Ross is the most recent candidate and thus far seems up to the task. If you're really desperate for saves this time of year, he could be worth a shot. Otherwise, there is probably not too much to worry about here.
