Marco Scutaro was designated for assignment today to clear room for outfielder Norichika Aoki.
Fantasy Impact
Per Hank Schulman, the Giants expect Scutaro to clear waivers & they will assign him to a minor league roster. This way they can fit Aoki as there is no DL in the offseason. Scutaro, 39, played in only 5 games last season after mustering 127 games played in 2012. He's likely done, but the Giants are holding out hope. Even if he plays, which is a stretch, he has no fantasy value even if starter Joe Panik goes down with injury.
