Murray finally answered the big question. He was the 9th overall pick in the 2018 MLB draft by the Athletics, unfortunately for the A's he won't be committing to the club moving forward. He has a real shot to be picked before any other quarterback heading into the 2019 NFL draft.

Murray declaring for the draft does not mean that he has officially committed to playing football and abandoning baseball. It just means that Murray will now get feedback from NFL scouts regarding where he might go in the NFL draft. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that most scouts estimate that Murray would be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round. Murray still has at least a few weeks before he makes a decision about which sport to play, but declaring for the NFL Draft allows him to keep that option available should he ultimately decide to play football.

It is also possible for him to try playing both sports, Murray is a much liked baseball prospect.

Playing both baseball and football looks to be out of the question due to the dedication it takes to learn the QB position in the NFL.
