RP Kyle Crockett faced two batters and struck them both out in Monday's 7-1 loss to the Astros.

The left-hander was summoned from the bullpen in the third inning after Corey Kluber had given up five runs. The 24-year-old has a useful fastball/slider combination, but is yet to be used in high leverage situations by the Indians.

With SP Cody Anderson optioned to Triple-A on Wednesday, RP Kyle Crockett was recalled to the big leagues.

The left-hander has made 74 appearances over the last two seasons, striking out 8.12 SO/9 with a 2.64 ERA. His 2014 was significantly better than 2015 but the 24-year-old still holds potential to be a valuable member of the Indians' bullpen.

RP Kyle Crockett threw 1 2/3 perfect innings vs. the Royals in Wednesday's Cactus League game. He struck out one, taking his spring total to eight strikeouts with a 2.08 ERA and 1.04 WHIP.

Whether the 24-year-old makes the Opening Day roster or starts in the minors is yet to be decided but it is likely that the left-hander will make an impact for the Indians in 2016. He faces competition from the more experienced trio of Joe Thatcher, Ross Detwiler and Tom Gorzelanny to secure the role as a lefty out of the bullpen.

Jacoby Ellsbury hit a double off LHP Kyle Crockett to move Stephen Drew to third base. Crockett then struck out Brett Gardner and was lifted for Bryan Shaw who subsequently allowed both inherited runners to score. The 23-year-old fnished with a line of 0.1 IP, 1H, 1ER, 0BB, 1SO.

This was the third hold for the Indians’ young reliever. Kyle Crockett has a low-to-mid 90s fastball and currently is the only left-handed pitcher on the Indians’ active roster. He is tabbed to be an important member of the Indians’ bullpen for many years to come.

LHP Kyle Crockett was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday, with Shaun Marcum (DFA) and Zach Walters (optioned) making way.

Fantasy Impact

Kyle Crockett is a better pitcher than his 5.91 ERA over his 21 games this season would suggest. The 23 year old does not have much fantasy value except in the deepest dynasty leagues as a speculative pick.
