Kennys Vargas hits long home run in Twins' victory

Kennys Vargas took a Derek Holland changeup deep to center field for a long three-run homer in the Twins' 9-7 win over the White Sox on Tuesday. The home run was Vargas' lone hit in five at-bats while striking out twice.

Fantasy Impact

Vargas continues to get sporadic playing time for the Twins this season playing in just 34 games while posting a .246 average and seven home runs. He is only worth owning in deep mixed leagues and AL-only leagues.

Kennys Vargas goes 3-for-5 with a HR

Kennys Vargas, the seemingly forgotten Twins first baseman, went 3-for-5 in Tuesday's 8-1 trouncing of the Detroit Tigers with his seventh HR of the season.

Fantasy Impact

Vargas has battled with being blocked at 1B and DH by Joe Mauer, Byung-ho Park and Miguel Sano throughout his career, but has accumulated 21 HR and 69 RBI over three season in what would equate to playing every day.

Kennys Vargas collects two more hits in win

Kennys Vargas went 2-for-5 with a single and a double in the Twins victory over the Red Sox Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact

This is another productive night for Vargas, who is hitting .318 since being called up on July fourth. He's also been more patient at the plate, drawing walks at a much higher clip than in his previous two stints in the big leagues. While there are a lot of great first basemen, Vargas is an underrated option in very deep leagues.
