The White Sox recalled Justin Anderson from Triple-A Charlotte.
Fantasy Impact
Anderson gets called up with Dominic Leone placed on the injured list. He should hold a role in the middle innings of the bullpen for the White Sox.
Justin Anderson (oblique) has resumed throwing off a mound.
Fantasy Impact
Anderson sustained an oblique injury at the beginning of training camp and was expected to miss the start of the season. With the 2020 campaign expected to be delayed until July, Anderson should be all systems go for Opening Day. The 27-year-old reliever owned a (3-0) record with a 5.55 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 60:32 K:BB across 54 games in 2019. Anderson is a dart throw option in AL-Only league formats.
Justin Anderson gave up a run in the ninth inning on Sunday but held on to protect the 7-6 win over the Rangers.
Fantasy Impact
This was just a "spot save" for Anderson, who was filling in for Hansel Robles. Anderson can be ignored in fantasy moving forward unless he gets another save chance soon.
Justin Anderson protected a one-run lead against the Dodgers in a scoreless ninth inning and notched his fourth save of the season on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
His number was called for this save opportunity since Blake Parker has pitched in three of the last four days. Anderson and his 1.55 WHIP mean that he is no threat to Parker's job now. Parker would need to have multiple horrible outings or get injured in order for Anderson to see consistent save chances.
Justin Anderson walked three batters and struck out one to earn the save Sunday against the Rangers.
Fantasy Impact
There has been no official closer named for the Angels. It is presumed to be Blake Parker who has been getting chances and had pitched the last two games. So it looks like this was just a spot for Anderson to get an opportunity as Parker got a day of rest. And the three walks did not help Anderson's chance to steal the role.
