Catching prospect Josmil Pinto went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored last night against the Norfolk Tides.
Fantasy Impact
Once considered the catcher of the future, Pinto has become the forgotten man in the Twins backstop situation after hitting just .219 in 57 games in 2014. He has been doing well this recently, though. This game brought his average up to .281 for the season. With his strong performance and Chris Herrmann's struggles at the plate this year, he may be up relatively soon.
Twins' backup catcher Josmil Pinto has been diagnosed with a minor concussion and will be held out of baseball activities for at least 5 days.
Fantasy Impact
In 2013 Josmil Pinto looked like the next big thing behind the plate in Minnesota. He took a big step backwards last year with his AVG dropping from .342 to .219. Hopefully the concussion will only be a very minor setback and he can produce like his rookie stats suggested.
Catcher Josmil Pinto suffered a right quad injury during catching drills this past week. It doesn't seem to be too serious of an injury.
Fantasy Impact
Pinto is on a day-to-day basis and hopes to be coming back in two to three games. Pinto needs as much time as possible to show the coaches he's ready for the big leagues, so any minor injury is a setback for him.
