Kowar was traded to Seattle this offseason. He was competing for a spot in the Mariners bullpen out of camp. There should be an update provided on his status either this weekend or early next week.

The Atlanta Braves have traded Jackson Kowar to the Seattle Mariners.

The headliner of this trade was Atlanta acquiring Jarred Kelenic from the Mariners. Kowar was acquired in a trade to the Braves from the Royals in the middle of November.

Jackson Kowar allowed seven runs on 11 hits and a walk while striking out four across 3 1/3 innings during Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Guardians.

Fantasy Impact

Kowar was on the unfortunate side of the Royals needing innings from the bullpen and subsequently left in to work out of a couple dire situations. The 2018 first round pick had a decent spring following a less than ideal 2021. Hopefully success will soon be encountered, as Kowar only continues to gain experience in the big leagues.

The former #33 overall pick looked good on Sunday, with his changeup looking especially sharp. Kowar struggled last season in the big leagues, but is still only 25 years old and still has the potential to be a valuable starter in fantasy eventually.
