The Red Sox have reportedly "expressed interest” in trading for 3B Isaac Paredes.
Fantasy Impact
Paredes is expected to be fully healthy by Opening Day as he works his way back from a hamstring injury suffered last season. If Boston can't re-sign Alex Bregman, they could elect to trade for Paredes.
Astros GM Dana Brown told reporters at the Winter Meetings that Isaac Paredes will be ready for Opening Day.
Fantasy Impact
Paredes had been hopeful to to be at 80-90 percent health by spring training. He is continuing to work his way back from a high-grade hamstring strain that he suffered back in mid-July.
Astros GM Dana Brown said Isaac Paredes will hopefully “at least get to somewhere between 80 and 90 percent at the start of the spring.”
Fantasy Impact
Paredes dealt with a serious hamstring strain in the middle of the season. He did return late in the regular season, but it doesn't appear he was fully healthy. Barring any setbacks, he has a chance to be a full-go by Opening Day.
Isaac Paredes went 1-for-4 in loss against the Mariners with a home run, one RBI, and one run scored.
Fantasy Impact
Paredes recorded his first home run since being activated from the injured list and went 2-for-11 in the series. After yesterday's game, Paredes is slashing .260 with 20 home runs and 52 RBI across 97 games this season.
The Houston Astros are expected to activate Isaac Paredes from the 60-day injured list on Friday.
Fantasy Impact
After being sidelined since July 20 with a right hamstring strain, Paredes has completed his hitting, running and defensive progressions without issue. He is expected to return to the Astros' lineup on Friday. With Carlos Correa having been acquired at the trade deadline and playing third base, Paredes will likely be used as the designated hitter.
