Hunter Pence announced his retirement from baseball.

The 37-year-old was released by the Giants earlier this summer. Pence was a part of two World Series wins with the organization and made four All-Star teams during his 14-year career. A perennial fan favorite, it'll be interesting to see if Pence finds another job within the sport.

Hunter Pence has been DFA'd by the San Francisco Giants as they continue to build a youth movement in the Bay.

Pence had really struggled to start the year with .096 batting-average and a .411 OPS in 52 at-bats. The move will clear a playing time path for younger players on the roster as the Giants continue to rebuild.
