Francisco Pena came into the game for Yadier Molina and collected one hit and scored once on the day.
Fantasy Impact
Pena has no fantasy value at this point due to how little playing time he's receiving being Molina's backup.
Francisco Pena will be the Cardinals backup catcher on Opening Day.
Fantasy Impact
Pena joined the Cardinals in mid-December on a minor-league deal and turned in a solid spring to gain the backup catcher spot. Pena won't see much time outside of giving Molina a rest, but will be the next in line if Molina goes down with an injury.
Francisco Pena had two homers on Saturday against the resurgent Nathan Karns, both solo hots.
Fantasy Impact
Pena made the most of a rare start, as he did some damage against the Royals Saturday. He promised his mom that he would hit a homer for her for Mother's Day weekend, and she was fortunate enough to see him hit two. Unfortunately for him, he is unlikely to keep playing, as he is currently second on the depth chart, and will drop to third once Welington Castillo is back.
